Senior Microsoft Systems Engineer
Nova Networks is one of Canada's largest providers of IT products and professional services. We are
currently seeking Senior Microsoft Systems Engineers for full-time permanent positions or for
long term contracts.
The ideal candidates will be very strong in Microsoft Server 2003 AD and Exchange 2007 and have experience
in migration projects including Novell to Microsoft.
The candidates must have at least 6 - 8 solid years of experience working in a Windows environment and
should have an MCSE designation in 2003 (We will consider an MCSA). Experience in Exchange Server migrations
is also crucial.
Key requirements:
- Knowledge and experience migrating from a Novell eDirectory, Groupwise environment
to a 2003 Active Directory and Exchange 2003 or 2007 infrastructure.
- Possess expert-level skills in the design, development and implementation of
advanced AD and Exchange architectures, as well as associated business process
analysis and documentation.
- Have experience with Microsoft management tools such as SMS, MOM, System Center
Config Manager and Systems Center Operations Manager.
- Have a solid understanding of the Windows kernel, registry, network services.
- Have the ability to define, prioritize, schedule, and monitor technical projects.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Experience with build automation, patch management, automated deployments and packaging.
- Experience with email archiving, anti-spam, anti-virus products.
- General knowledge of networking, security, virtualization.
Job duties will include: lead role in large Novell to Microsoft migrations, Microsoft upgrade
projects for AD and Exchange, occasional 3rd level support for AD and Exchange advanced
issues, architecting and designing, working with documentation team to provide
technical design and implantation plans.
Good customer relations and communication skills are also mandatory.
Ability to manage projects and bilingualism (French and English) would be helpful.
